This is an embarrassment not only to Dominican Republic but to the entire Paso World Community.
On the last show held in Dominican Republic, Puerto Rican(not sure) Judge Gerardo Estevez, was assaulted in the ring while explaining the results! that all 3 judges had agreed.
During the same weekend in Jax, Florida... a well known Horse Representative, was taken away by security do to vulgar language used while screaming (yelling) to the judges from the bleachers. (could that be call verbal assault?).............
The 2 above mentioned, are the most recent incidents..............
The show in the DR was sanctioned by ASENA. the individual was suspended for 2 years from showing at any ASENA sanctioned show...... should Confepaso be involved?
I will like to hear suggestions, what can be done?...
Quit overvaluing the horses based on a buck fifty ribbon or one man's opinion. It's a hobby not a lifestyle or an industry.
Maybe the economic market is a blessing.
When a win makes a horse worth over a million or a loss makes the horse worthless, it diminishes the real value of what a horse is. ONE show, ONE class, ONE placement, should not come with a price tag.
Frankly, CONFEPASO needs to clean its own house before thinking about telling others how to keep theirs.
