I hate it for the beaches. The island we stayed at last weekend, has got to be taking a hit. There were 3 homes on the point, that are being protected by sandbags, but I don't know...they may have to be condemned after this storm...it's just lasted so long.

OYYYY! Please.... dont ever stay on our beach home!!
And you guys think I'm crazy for living up here where there's snow and cold temperatures for a few months! Pfft! I'll take my cold over your Ikes ANY day!
Batten down the hatches. My thoughts are with you.

Well Jane...I think I'd take the wind and rain over the snow...don't have to shovel snow, or thaw water buckets.
Felix...if that's a dare...I'm game! jejejejejejeje

I used to live in snow land...have survived a hurricane, in an area where everyone thought we were too far inland to experience the effects (which meant few were prepared). I'll still take the tropical systems...at least you can still wear short pants!

Yeah, I know have experienced both winter storms and Hurricane winds. I'm thinking....if you can get hit in the middle of the country by hurricanes, where is safe?
There are still a few people out of power here, I thankfully have power now.

With that said! The Boston area might be in trouble very soon!
No hurricanes up here, Britz! Or snakes. Or earthquakes.
All in all ... what's a little snow? (The silly woman says ever so bravely ... two months before it's gonna get REALLY cold for a REALLY long time. *grin*)
I'm coming to see you, Felix. Will be there January 3-17/09. Then I'll go back to the frozen tundra for a while ... and then take another break in Hawaii.
That ought to keep my old bones from freezing solid!

Mother nature will not be fooled!! Nowhere is safe, or perfect...we just have to find what suits us best. Snow isn't it...btdt, and had to go!
