First kets talk about what TROCHA means, the word Trocha can be translated as TRAIL or Path.
TROCHA GAiT, is a four beat diagonal gait, in which the four hooves move unevenly alternated, non-isochronic.
A Paso Fino horse often non in gait, BY IGNORANCE they say TROCHA! that is wrong, a horse not in gait is just that, and should be called a Paso Fino off gait.

This confuses me a little... Can a Paso Fino not trocha? I thought I read somewhere that Maraquita la Rosa was able to do the trocha gait as well.
Since they are the same breed just different modalities can't some of them do more than just the modality they are in?

Ok! I like this thread!
Just cause a horse has the ability to do all other modalities in perfect harmony! does not mean is not from the breed of registry!.... all the contrairy, IS AN EXCEPTIONAL HORSE! with the ability of performing another gait other than their own! BUT, not desired for breeding to a Trocha horse, you might not get what you where looking for, cause Maraquita is a Fino horse or a PASO FINO horse..
Just like I can speak ENGLISH perfectly! (jejejejejejejeje COUGH COUGH, I am a poor example but!) does not make me an American.....
