Dear Members,
94 Days left and counting...Nationals is just around the bend and we all truly hope that everyone is starting to make arrangements for this week long event. To start, everyone needs to access a copy of the Prize List for the 2008 Grand Nationals by visiting our website at www.pfha.org and print their copy today. Other important information is available on our website, such as printable forms, such as entry and sponsorship forms for Nationals. Let's not forget the importance of getting all of our registrations and transfers taken care of far in advance before the big event, along with current Membership cards, which every owner, trainer, rider and handler must have. And for you Amateurs out there, you will need to present your Amateur Owner card to the show secretary and possibly the steward if you plan on exhibiting in an Amateur Owner class. If you do not have any of these necessary credentials, please contact the PFHA office at (813) 719-7777 or refer to the bottom of this E-News to find out who exactly you need to contact in the office to help you with a specific question or request.
With Nationals on the way, everyone also needs to make preparations for their stay in Perry, GA, whether it be on the fairgrounds or in one of the many hotels/motels surrounding the area. A list of the hotels and their contact information can also be found at www.pfha.org. If you plan on staying at the fairgrounds for this exciting week, RV Hookup spaces can ONLY be reserved by calling the Security Department of the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter at (478) 987-3247.
Along with Owners', Handlers', Riders' & Trainers' need to prepare for Nationals, we, the office staff at the PFHA National Office and all the volunteers who donate their time to make Nationals memorable, have preparations and responsibilities also for the big week. Babs Buffington would like to send the following invitation to any who would like to spare a day or a few hours while at the Fairgrounds, whether as a spectator or an exhibitor:
Feel the ground quake as the top Paso Fino horses in the country thunder past your ground level seat, throwing dirt into the air with their lightning quick footfall. Peer into the eyes of the fierce competitors, and watch riders' hands make fine adjustments as they guide their steeds to victory. Share in the excitement and be a part of history as you place a ribbon on a 2008 champion. Presenting Ribbons at Nationals from such an amazing vantage point, allows you to experience the show in a unique way that you cannot duplicate anywhere else in the arena. Make your reservations for the best seats in the house at Nationals 2008 by contacting Babs Buffington at babs6741@yahoo.com or call 727.804.4246.
One last quick reminder. The Awards Banquet is taking place at Nationals on Thursday night in the Georgia Building. If you decide to attend the dinner, they are asking for everyone to either dress up or dress casual, but no jeans, shorts or t-shirts.
