Paso Fino Horse Association E-News
FARM DIRECTORY
If you haven't called to have your farm listed in the new Farm Directory, you should do so immediately. Call Kelly at the PFHA office now. (813-719-7777)
This is the only PFHA publication that is mailed out with farm listings.
We will print 30,000, and they will be sent out over the next two years to equine shows and to people who call or write asking for information on the Paso Fino breed.
ONLY A COUPLE OF WEEKS LEFT
Stallion owners if you donated a breeding to the 2007 Service Auction, but there was no bid on your stallion, it is time for you to buy back your
breeding for $200. You have until March 31, 2008 to make this purchase.
You will receive one free nomination to the 2010 Breeder's Sweepstakes
classes. You will be receiving a letter from PFHA explaining this information.
ATTENTION
Mare Owners
If your bid wasn't the high bid on a stallion listed in the 2007 stallion service auction, you can still participate in the 2010 Breeder's Sweepstakes Classes.
Any member that has an offspring of an eligible stallion can participate in the Breeder's Sweepstakes classes by paying a $200 nomination fee per entry
plus the class entry fee.
HOW DOES IT WORK
There is a three year lag between the SSA and its corresponding Breeder's
Sweepstakes classes at the Grand National Show. This is due to the following
process:
· Year 0 - SSA starts during the Grand National Show (September) and runs through March of the following year as described above.
· Year 1 - Mare is bred to a stallion whose service was purchased through the SSA.
· Year 2 - Foal is born.
· Year 3 - Yearling foal can participate in the appropriate Breeder's Sweepstakes class.
The Breeder's Sweepstakes classes are Bellas Formas classes with specific requirements. Check the website for the procedures and
appointments for these classes.

FLORIDA REGION ON TELEVISION
According to Alex Amador, the Florida Region recently held a show at Tropcal Park, in Miami. A film crew from Univision Communications, the nations largest Spanish-lanuage media company attended the show. The reporter was given a ride on the mare that won the fino mare's class. Portions of the show will be seen all over the United States and numerous foreign countries.
Alex Amador says that their Regions promotion with Univision Network will continue with the Spectrum Show and other shows. In April they will be holding their first trail ride combined with the 1200 member strong South Florida Trail Riders. They plan to promote and spotlight the Paso Fino ownership as the best ride in town.
