Etiquette regarding naming horses? Is there an etiquette within the Paso Horse world to naming horses and offspring? Are there any "rules", written or unspoken when it comes to naming a foal, particularly if the foal is sired by a well known stallion or the dam is a well known mare?
Thanks!

No etiquette, but there is a tradition that the name has some meaning or story behind it. Brings life to the name. Not all horses are named that way but a large enough number are.

If need help selecting! we are here to help! for example! Chapolero de Arafat! or Chapolera de Arafat....
Another example: is ARAFAT del PUNTO is the sire: many times you will find a reverse name like, EL PUNTO DE ARAFAT.

Caliber: It is funny that you should use those names in your example. Yes, you know which mare I am referring to I see. That is interesting about switching the name around. I had not noticed people doing that before, but now I will pay attention.
Big J: I agree too that names with a story are more interesting.
If I were to use the sire's name as part of the foal's name, is it customary or considered a courtesy to ask the sire owner's permission or to let them know about the name? Or is it not necessary? Thanks!
