2008 Paso Fino Celebration Show

YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS SHOW!

The 2008 Paso Fino Celebration Show

August 23-24, 2008

at the Hippodrome Equine Facility in North Augusta, South Carolina

The Paso Fino Celebration Show can be a lot of fun and the PPRPFFA puts a lot of emphasis on making people feel welcome. The memories that you create at a Paso Fino horse show will last a lifetime, along with the thrill and excitement of entering the ring in front of a crowed is enough to keep you coming back.  Even if you are not a participant, it is a lot of fun to watch others exhibiting the Paso Fino breed that they love and to chat with people that have the same common interest. The show will have something for everyone that participates, and their will be plenty of prizes to hand out! No one will go home empty handed, since everybody’s presence is certainly appreciated. Come see for yourself what showing is really about....FUN!

nice work!  and thank you Kofresi!

is that El Che on Maraquero?
Kofresi Royal

That is correct, they are!  The other photo is my niece, Adriana with Allegretto Royal one of my PPR colts.  In honor of Maraquero de Vitral was my new colt in PR naming it, Maraquero Royal.

Thank you,
Kofresi Royal
grif

Isn't that kind of like putting a picture of a Lusitano on an ad for an Andalusian show? Close but not quite the same? I would not think a pic of Maraquero would be appropriate for a PPR advertisement.

The PPR Paso Fino show in South Carolina will offer trophies for the winners in all championship classes. We expect maximum participation of all PPR Paso Fino families. Participate and obtain one of these beautiful trophies. Get you horses ready and be prepared. We look forward to the participation of owners and families members in this PPR Paso Fino special event.

Best wishes,
Kofresi Royal

Distinguished Sportsmen:

Ladies and Gentlemen, it was called to my attention that the photo of a winning team (Maraquero), of an extremely professional team that competes in the paso fino show arenas.  As the owners of paso fino horses, we always dream to learn and obtain the wisdom of those professional paso fino teams, and by this manner we can apply this knowledge during the training sections of our own horses. Upon obtaining this wisdom we will be able to try to be a winning team as they are, presenting our own horses in future competitions. Teams similar to them motivate us to dream and learn and this is the meaning behind the article. Team spirit is what it is all about!  Thank you for your sportsmanship and your continued support.  I hope to see you all there!

Sincerely,

Eng. Ramon Bodon (Kofresi Royal)

The clinic will be on August the 23rd, 2008 after the show and during the recess of the following day on August the 24th, 2008. Whether you are bella forma, pleasure, performance, or executing fino, accuracy of execution must be the keystone upon which every other aspect is based. A sound, progressive system of training, followed by many hours of practice is the only logical answer to a successful partnership in the show ring.

The clinic will provide you with the basic skills necessary to transform you into a successful, winning, Paso Fino horse owner in the show ring. This clinic will be free admission for all the ones that attend to the show. Be present and participate!!!

I look forward to see you all there!

Anybody here going to this?  I'll be there.
BigJ

Not this year.  I had planned to go because usually it's the first part of August, but this year it conflicts with the Show of Champions in Puerto Rico.  It's during the very same weekend.  I'll be in Puerto Rico instead.

Really it is too bad.  Rafael Arbelo has been working hard to get more PPR folks from Puerto Rico to attend and several had planned to be there this year, but with the conflict, all plans were cancelled.  I do know several have expressed interest in bringing horses from Puerto Rico to support the PPRPFFA in the states.

Maybe next year????

Hey I leave on 19 Aug to Texas from Arabia. I will be in SC on 21 Aug. Who else is making it this year to the Paso Fino Celebration Show...

Show of Champions in Puerto Rico was canceled for later on in the year. PPR folks coming from Puerto Rico now to attend the Celebration Show. Please let me know, who else coming to the show to make arrangement for you? Be present, participate and have fun!

Thank you,

Kofresi Royal
BigJ

I don't know yet.  Monday was the first I heard the festival of champions was canceled. When did you find out Ramon?

If I cancel the PR trip it will have little to do with the show though.  My partner and I had planned the trip together and he may not be able to travel with me.  This was to be his first trip to PR, so I may try to reschedule the flights for a later date.  There is a very slight chance, but still a chance if I cancel I can make the SC show.  It all depends on some circumstances we are dealing with right now.  There is also a very slight chance he may be able to leave the USA to go to PR and if he can,  then I will not be here for the SC show.  Everything is dependent on what happens in the next weeks.

You know it's a good thing the PPRPFFA didn't listen to the pleas from folks  to reschedule the show!!  What a fiasco that would have been.   I'm putting my membership and sponsorships in the mail today for the PPRPFFA.  So everyone benefits.
Kofresi Royal

Hi Big J,

I tried to obtain a positive answer for the last 2 months in PR and nobody has given me a sure answer of the festival of champions.  I get informed around two weeks ago that the show was going to be observing, but not in Ponce.  This week I got inform that the show was canceled.  The rumors say that the show is going to be, but nobody knows when certainly.  When I get it a sure answer, I will inform the news in the forum for benefits of all.

Thanks for your unconditional support to the PPRPFFA.  I hope that you can attend the show in SC.

Good Luck!!!

Kofresi Royal

Sent in my paperwork today for the Celebration show next week.

I will be bringing my ppr stallion, my ppr filly and also my 3/4 pr mare Star for the Open classes. Star has never shown before and will be 5 in Sept. This will be good exposure for her.

I am going to be helping in Bella Forma with my stallion and showing my filly in hand. Amanda McKown will be riding my stallion Cale's Helado Oro as she has him in for some conditioning/training.

It should be a lot of fun and I will be able to take pictures and video this time.

Anyway hope to see you all there.......

I will be there!  I'll have on a Great Blazes blue tshirt and jeans.  Kofresi, how can I find you?  Ppr, same as you, I'm dying to meet your studly!

Paintedhorizon, I will be with a U.S. color flag shirt, a Texas buckle and my large mustache well conditioned, ready for bella forma class. LOL...

Big J, are you going?

It should be a lot of fun and I will take pictures for benefit of the members.

Thank you all for your support!!!

I will see you all there…

I will be in the first class Bella Forma fillies on Sat with my ppr filly Cita. Wearing all white of course.

Also in Bella Forma Stallions with Frosty in long lines. I'm sure you will recognize Frosty......he is turning a bit chocolate now and you surely can;t miss his massive mane!

I will have posters of him at his stall hung up too....we are with the North Atlantic Pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino Org .......Northwest Pa region.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Here is a picture of Cita from last year in Dillsburg PA......she is still about the same color just a little bigger now. She is 2/12 now and was 11/2 in this picture. Not many around look like this one so I think you can find us!

I took this one a couple weeks ago...you can see she has matured and filled out but still the same color.....boy it is hard to keep her clean! Shocked
caliber

uyyyyy!!!!   Oro Cita is a real mamasita!    very nice filly!

In Spanish "mamasita" means, hot pretty woman!  jejejejejeje

WELL!  my plans are now off!  the STORM path is not looking very favorable to So. Florida!

Please take lots of pictures!   qreat luck to all!
pprpaso

Caliber ...I see on the news you had some tornados coming through! Boy if it isn't hurricanes it's tornados!  Tornados are less predictable than hurricanes.....the one that hit 2 years ago down by our place in Weirsdale Fl (it hit about 6 miles from us)really did a lot of damage. It struck at 3AM which many people were unaware of it. Looked like a war zone for a year or so. Now they have rebuilt but much damage and many lives were lost.

Don't worry ...we will get lots of pictures to post here! Wink
Paintedhorizon

I can't wait to meet all of you and your beautiful horses!  I'm so very excited!
BigJ

Sorry, won't make it this year.

Al and I got word from both parents.  He's heading south in Sept and I'm heading north.  His mom's surgery is set for Sept. 11 and my dad's surgery is for Sept. 8.

I just finished reservations to PR.  We considered postponing, but this may be our best chance considering the circumstances.  Al is excited though and I'm glad.  Puerto Rico was very instrumental in developing my love for horses and much later my love for paso finos.   Without that experience I don't think I would have horses today.  Every time I visit it's like going home.  It renews my spirit to come back and keep trying.

Good Luck to everyone in South Carolina!
BigJ

Well, well, well, my saga continues.

Looks like Puerto Rico is out of the picture entirely.   My weekend is now open.   One surgery has been rescheduled for next Monday, so we need to be in town.

So who is going to the show?  I'm still debating if I should go or not.

EDIT: Reservations made for the PPR show in SC.  If you are attending, hope to see you there!
Paintedhorizon

You guys are missing an AWESOME show!
Kerry W

Hate I couldn't make it...but where are the foticos????????  dunno
Paintedhorizon

In Kofresi's camera. hahaha  I tried taking pics, but just couldn't get good ones with my camera.  It just does not like indoor arenas.  It did the same thing at Nationals.
pprpaso

I did manage to get s couple good pics of the show. It is dark inside so the outside ones came out nice.

I was very proud of my pasos! All three Frosty, Cita and Star did very well....my little palomino filly was a real hit! When she received her blue ribbon in Bella Forma mares 4 and under (she is 30 months old) she kicked out with her back legs . It was pretty funny but she must have felt my excitement.

She was a little stinker and tried to eat the potted plants in the arena when I brought her in for her practice. Then she decided the outdoor carpet they had placed under the table for display looked like good eating and I thought she was going to pull the carpet out and the trophies would end up on the floor!

Anyway she was Reserve Champion Bella Forma mare.....here's a  pic of her wearing her ribbon and me holding the trophy.

Cita was very tired after all the excitement of the day! I caught this one of her and my husband Al napping in the stall......

caliber

WOW!   how much fun can you fit in two days,  jejejejeje  Love your filly, that was so funny, she sounds like a great camper.

That last picture........ is worth a million...............  I can see the bond and love you all share with your horses...   way to go!

Thank you so much for the pictures and for sharing.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Paintedhorizon

Awww!  Love the one of her laying down!  I truly adore her!  She was so cute!  She deserved that placing too!  I know Stella really REALLY liked her!
pprpaso

Yeah she is really a special little filly. This one shows more of her conformation....she is built like her dam and the judges loved her in Bella Forma. She is refined and very well gaited.

caliber

What can I say other than!  SHE IS AWESOME!!!
pprpaso

Ok...I thought I posted pics of Frosty earlier but I don;t see the post. I'm on a new computer so I will try again.

Here are a couple of Frost........I got these near the door so they came out decent. He was Champion Performance Stallion, Reserve Fino Stallion and was wonderful in the Bella Forma Stallions class (his first time in long lines). I hope someone got pics of him in Bella Forma.....I was on the right line so couldn;t get pictures.

I just love this one......

Kofresi Royal

I just arrived back to Texas. It was an amazing, spectacular and marvelous show all around; a total success!!! Thank you to everyone who attended the 2008 Celebration Show, we had a very successful weekend, second to none!  Thank you so much to those of you that supported us.

Joelo Feliciano, president of the Pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino National Association from Puerto Rico and his family were present.  They brought up National Association hats a distributed to the public at the show. Joelo journey started in PR. flow to Florida and drove to SC.

Carol Garcia from Stallion Central was there. She interviews several people for an article in Showtime magazine later in the year.

The Newspaper from the area was present and wrote an article about the show to inform the community in general.

The brochure covers/show programs were remarkable, something to see…

The longest distance traveled was really close between pprpaso from PA and Shining Star from Arkansas, but in the end Mr. Hector Hernandez from the border of Oklahoma and Missouri took the beautiful trophy.

The blankets of flowers looked extraordinary spectacular over the horses…

The stalls were nicely decorated; Mrs. Ann Gilpatrick took the gorgeous trophy home.

The Sunday lunch was delicious and donated by the Federation. Mr. Al Gilpatrick had his 73rd birthday celebration during the lunch. We were a big family all together having fun!

Ramon Bodon was the trainer of the year.

The clinic was full of surprise!

The national anthems of USA, PR and the Federation were play when the flag-waver went around de arena.

All classes had entry on it, average of 4 horses per class, maximum of 12 in a class.

Here are some pictures of the show. Enjoy it…

Wow, I missed one heck of a show, obviously! I will just HAVE to be there next year. Love the pics, what beautiful horses. Looks like everyone had such a great time, too.

Hey Kofresi, are there any pictures of that gorgeous little golden palomino stallion?  Who was that?
Rafael Arbelo

When is the PPRPFA going to do a show in Florida?

Anyone got a pedigree on this lovely? Shocked

caliber

I agree!  someone needs to start singing PEDIGREES here!
Kofresi Royal

I do not have a picture of the little palomino yet, but Ann will going to send me a CD with all the pictures she took during the show. I will post it a picture of him as soon I receive de CD. By the way his name is Orito Fino (fine little gold).

The dum mare with the little girl is Estrtella Dorada (Quijote de Tanama x Delicia de Dije). This mare was purchase in PR about 6 years ago by Mr. Cliff Fisher, Margarita Farm. This mare is always in different classes during the show. She is well trained.

We can do a PPR show in Florida any time that you guys want to organize one. Take time, organization and resources. I can help, but somebody needs to lead.

I'd look better 20 pounds lighter and standing straight!

Candice, you look fabulous!   your hand in the pocket is just you! LOL!

Candice, I truly admire you and respect you dearly. Bow  You are a woman of word, your unconditional support for the breed is obvious and appreciated.

One more thing I need to say with  two words!

(1) THANK  (2) YOU.....................and may GOD bless your will

Con Todo Mi Corazon

Here are a few pics of my lovely golden boy Con Todo Mi Corazon, which means"with all my heart" in english.  (His name is so fitting!) These are the only ones that were clear.  I'm also going to have to wait for the rest on CD.  I know that they got a really nice shot of him taking a bow after he got a ribbon!  I can't wait to see them!  The show was absolutely fabulous!!!  A+++ for everyone participated!!!!  I will have to write a bit more after I catch up on things here!
(Don't mind my scowl in the one picture.  The sweat was pouring down my face and burning my eyes, hence the reason for "the look".)

Can you post a copy of STAR Pedigree please!   she is lovely.

La Estrella Filante IHR

Star's Sire is Oro Muy de Herencia (River Bend Senero x Sidra de Frio Viva-yo) and her dam is Desiree RRR (Galante LaCE X Magia Negra RRR).   I owned both her sire and dam at one time.....Star was born and raised here on our ranch.  She has some nice show bloodlines and is Mar de PLata top and bottom has some Capuchino, Bolero LaCE top and bottom and also is a Frio Viento great grand daughter on her sire's side.  Desiree was a wonderful producer and has very much BRIO!  THis Brio is evident in Star.

Here's her full pedigree   http://www.tesiopower.com/pf/sixgen.aspx?hID=53771

Here is a picture of Star's sire.....he was only about 2 years old here

Here is Star's dam Desiree RRR

Star and Desiree

I think Star looks very much like her dam.....she even has a lot of the white ticking in her coat and a Coon tail. Desiree was a medium sabino but Star looks to be Rabicano.

Thank you!   Great Horses.....

Deb,

That's a beautiful mare.

Really Felix the pics don't do her justice.
Paintedhorizon

There's that beautiful palomino!  And him bowing, that was just great!  He is wonderful Heart of Gold!

Deb, that mare is drop dead gorgeous and such a gem!
pprpaso

Thank you candice! You saw her in person so you would know. Most of these indoor pictures were so dark and I had to lighten them. Star is very pretty and a "cherry red". She gets more of the white hairs in her coat every year.

Maybe I have a better picture of her from Fl......this one was last year I think. You can see her color and some of the white hairs in her flank. I think she has the prettiest sculptured head.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of those who participated in this show.  I realize what a hardship it is for you, and your horses to travel so far.  It really warms my heart to see a group of individuals doing what it takes, to help others learn about this special breed.

My hat is off to you all!  goodjob

For sharing the written details, and the fantastic photos here at PasoVoice...
thanks
