This is the sire of the filly above. His name is Relicario II (El Relicario x Piel de Seda). In that picture he had a broken front leg and was used exclusevely for breeding.

This is an old picture of the old Relicario (Bondadoso x Sedalina). This stallion was very fino and had a very distinguished competitive career. He is the sire of Relicario II

I'd say palomino roan. What outstanding qualities did Relicario II possess that kept him breeding even with a broken leg?
BTW...I like the foal the best, of all of them...seems she was present when the passed out the pretty genes!

The principal qualities of the Relicario bloodlines are; VERY natural gait, very short and collected fino steps with an above average speed and of course their color coat which in Puerto Rico is totally unique in the Pure Puerto Rican horses... no other bloodline has this color!

I really like what I see in this line. This is only the third horse I've seen direct from the Relicario lineage, but they all have the same characteristics.
I hope to see Reliquia when I go to PR next time. I suspect the pics you've shared isn't showing everything he has to offer.

Yor are right Big J, this horse's pics do not show everything he has to offer. Coincidentally, I was talking yesterday with Pepe about Reliquia and he was telling me how impressed he was with this horse Natural Gait and elasticity along with smoothness. He compared that to the horses of the Batalla bloodline that came before Reliquia. He said that trait was a common characteristic found in the horses descending from Batalla ...
Reliquia presents a real opportunity for people looking to fix that Natural and Smooth gait into their breeding program. His unique color coat is just a PLUS for people looking to breed something different !!
